Archer AX72 won't reset
I've changed FTTP ISP from one that will work directly with my AX72 router to one that won't. I naively thought that I could just plug the router from the new ISP (Sky) into the AX72, log in, change a few settings and then carry on as before.
As soon as I tried to connect the Sky router, the AX72 became unresponsive whether connected to the Sky router or not. The reset button does not work and I can't connect either wirelessly or using ethernet. The lights alternate between the power button flashing on and off, followed by all buttons flashing on and off. I have an RE705X range extender that is still working and allowing me to log in; turning it off makes no difference.
TP-Link help told me the device is defective, then referred me to their replacement team. They then refused to replace it, because aparently 2 years and 2 months is a reasonble lifespan for a £100 router.
Can anyone assist? It seems odd that a defect would make itselff known at the exact point that I tried to change the input.
And to anyone considering TP-Link, my previous Netgear router was still going strong when I upgraded it after 8 years, and had regular firmware updates.
