Model: EAP650-Desktop
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.2 Build 20250123 Rel. 43117

Hello Gyus,

I have noticed some wired situation with IPhone.

Here is the configuration:

client: iPhone 16, iPhone 15, iPhone 13 , iOS18

Home simple Network:

- OC200 controller

TL-R605 v1.0 router

-  EAP650-desktop

- 2x EAP235-wall

SSID : home-wifi

Situation: iPhone is connected to home-wifi  to EAP650-Desktop, then i move to room where the signal is weak ( eap650 ) so i placed here eap235.

iPhone is not able to connect to this wifi.

I have done several action, switch on/off fast roamnig, RSSI .. restart all devices.. there is still problem.

BUT, i created new home-wifi-new near EAP 235, it was OK , later a moved to coverage by EPA650 and iPhone connected to EAP650 and the situation is the same.

Notebook ASUS ZenBook has no problem with that.

Can anyone help me , or is this known issue by iPhone?

thanks

Hi  @pcan

When an iOS device roams between different APs, if it moves from an EAP with WPA3 encryption to an EAP with WPA2 encryption, the device will fail to associate with the same SSID, resulting in a roaming failure. In this case, the iOS client must manually forget the SSID and reconnect to establish a successful connection. This is due to iOS's security mechanism.

Solution: Set the encryption method to WPA/WPA2 or WPA2 to ensure compatibility.

Thanks, now it works. I did not know that iOS has such WPA secure implementation. THANK YOU
