Firmware Version:

Hi there, i just purchased the TP-Link AX1800 High Gain Wireless USB Adapter for my pc, And while my upload speeds are excellcent. My download speeds are not, they are only half of my upload speeds.  I've checked the usb ports where its plugged in, and its plugged into a usb 3.2 port on my motherboard, and i've changed no settings on the device it's self. I even tried a steam download, and compared to my older TP- Link RE650X Wi-Fi Range Extender, its much slower.  Any ideas?

 Hi @Terdog,

Welcome to our community.

If you're suffering from the slow speed issue with the wireless adapter, please refer to the following troubleshooting steps:
    1. Connect another mobile device to the same Wi-Fi router to determine whether the issue is with the router or the adapter.
    2. Disable the original wireless adapter from the control panel of your PC.
    3. Move the computer with the installed adapter about 10-15 feet away from your router.
    4. If you have a dual-band wireless adapter, please ensure the router supports 5GHz and connect the wireless adapter to the 5GHz band.
    5. Change the wireless settings on the main router, like channel 1/6/11 for 2.4GHz, and channel 36/40/44/48 for 5GHz.
    6. Install the latest driver on the TP-Link Official website.

What is the speed of the adapter now? Here is an FAQ that may help you: How to improve the speed of TP-Link wireless adapters
