I purchased a TP-Link A55 and set it up yesterday as a secondary access point, connected via Ethernet to my main router. It worked fine at first. Today, it completely stopped working.

 

I tried the following steps:

 

  • Power cycled the device
  • Disconnected and reconnected the Ethernet cable
  • Rebooted the router
  • Verified the main router and Ethernet cable are working (tested with my old router, which works fine)

 

 

The TP-Link A55 shows no connectivity, and I cannot access its admin page. It appears to have failed after less than 24 hours of use.

 

Please advise on next steps or replacement options.

Please check the model of your router:

How to find the model number of your TP-Link device 

How to find the hardware version on a TP-Link device

 

If you set the router back to wireless router mode, can it work normally? Please try:

    1. Make sure the main router's Internet works fine by using a PC wired to the same port of the router to have a test.
    2. Replace the cable connecting the A55 and the main router.
    3. Switch to a different LAN port on the main router.
    4. Reset and reconfigure the access point(A55).
