Model: Archer BE400
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Recently switched to an Archer BE400 router. Since doing so, the apps on our TVs (one an LG, the other a Sony) cannot connect to their services (EG Netflix and YouTube).

Services (EG Netflix and YouTube) are accessible as my PC and phone can connect to them, it's just the TVs. The TV reports there is internet connection and it will download app updates, although the apps cannot connect to the app services.

When I try to use the Web Browser on the LG TV strange results are seen. I can connect to some sites, but others I can't. I can connect to google.com, but when trying to do a search, goggle just brings back "we identified some unusual behaviour on your network".

So while this seems to be a TV issue, it only started when using the Archer BE400 router. I never experienced these issues before. I've reset the TV, but still having this issue.

Any suggestions on what may be going on?

While I had reset the router previously. I did it again, but this time I changed the name of the network (previously I was using the same network name the old router used).

Now when connecting, the TV apps work.

Perhaps the TVs were caching infomation based on the network name? So when I had them join the network provided by the new router, there was some type of clash with data it stored based on the network name. I have no idea. But it's working now.

Hello @Alex12121212 ,

Welcome to our community.

Have you set parental control for the TVs? If yes, please remove the files.

If the TVs can be connected to router wirelessly, please try it for comparison.

Please try a different Ethernet cable.

Please check if you need to set LAN ports of router to be IPTV ports for the TV?

Please change DNS for a try: How to Change the DNS servers on the wireless router and DSL modem router (New UI)

@Joseph-TP thanks for the reply :)

No parental controls set on the TV. The only change has been simply switching to a new router.

We only have wireless for the TVs, ethernet is not viable for us. Both TVs register that there is an internet connection and they can download updates, but that's about all they can do.

I tried changing the DNS to what was listed in the link you supplied, but that did not change the results. I had also read that changing MTU to 1480 (was set at 1500) could resolve the issue, but that didn't change the results either.

Hi  @Alex12121212 ,

Thank you for getting back to me.

Yes, some devices will keep the original connection information. This also means that you should not have successfully hard reset the TV before.
In any case, you have successfully solved your problem. Please enjoy the router's network!yes
