I’m evaluating the TP-Link Omada EAP610 for a network setup and would like to confirm whether it supports the following features specifically and fully:

  • 802.1X authentication

  • Captive Portal (internal and/or external redirect)

  • VLAN tagging

  • RADIUS integration

  • MAB (MAC Authentication Bypass)

  • RADIUS-assigned/dynamic VLANs

Hi  @rohiit_dev

Please see my answers below:

  •

  • Captive Portal (internal and/or external redirect)---yes

  • VLAN tagging---yes

  • RADIUS integration---yyes

  •

  • RADIUS-assigned/dynamic VLANs---yes

802.1X authentication

MAB (MAC Authentication Bypass)

>>>Regarding these two features, I'm not entirely sure if we're on the same page about how they work. You can refer to our configuration guide below, which demonstrates the implementation of both features with EAP compatibility.

How to Shut Down the Switch Port Connected to an EAP to Prevent Intrusion via 802.1X Authentication?

Just to be safe, you may want to consider purchasing an SND switch to use alongside your EAP for optimal performance.
