Hi,

I have a router with the following details:

  • Model: Archer C6(IN)

  • Hardware Version: v4

  • HVIN: Archer A6v4

  • FCC ID: 2AXJ4-A6V4

  • IC: 26583-A6V4

  • Made in India

 

  • TPlink

 

I’ve checked the OpenWrt Table of Hardware, and it currently shows support only for:

  • Archer C6 v2 (EU/US/RU)

  • Archer C6 v3 (US/BR/EU)

 

openwrt

 

There is no mention of Archer C6 v4 or v4.8 (IN).

I would like to know:

  • Can I safely flash the OpenWrt firmware for C6 v2 or v3 on my v4 (IN) router?

However, installing third-party firmware may introduce instability or even damage your device. These firmwares have not been officially tested and certified by us and may not meet the safety and performance standards of our products. We do not recommend the use of third-party firmware. According to your description, the product may malfunction due to upgrading to third-party firmware. You need to try to restore to the official firmware yourself before we can continue to provide corresponding technical guidance. If you cannot restore, according to our product warranty policy, we cannot provide you with warranty services.

  @rohiit_dev  You should probably ask the openWRT community this question and not TP-Link. TP-Link can tell you just the difference of the hardware from v4 and the older hardware versions.
