Model: Archer BE550
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.2 Build 20250317 rel.18331(4555)

Hola,

Por temas de seguridad me piden que desactive SNMP en el router y no veo ninguna opción en la configuración del mismo vía web para poder hacerlo.

Agradecería que me dijeran cómo se podría desactivar.

Muchas gracias

Hi  @fboronat ,

Welcome to our community.

To the best of my knowledge, the BE550 management interface does not have this function.

Do you have any specific requirements, such as which functions/devices you do not want to be blocked?

  @Joseph-TP

Thanks for your quick answer.

I would like to connect my router to my university network to provide access to that network to wireless devices in the R&D lab I lead.

One of the problems is that the university cybersecurity team needs to access to my router to periodically check its vulnerability risks, and it seems that the SPI firewall (when activated) blocks it. The computer they do the scanning from has an IP address belonging to the university network (the same the router's wan port is connected to, and therefore the wan IP adress is in the same internetwork as the vulnerability scanning computer).

The other problem is that they have done a preliminary test to my router and state that my router has SNMP activated. Nevertheless, as you say, the router does not have SNMP functionality/support. Would it be possible that the router has some option/feature (e.g., automatic updates) that can use ports normally assigned to SNMP (161, 162, 10161, or 10162) and that could be disabled? If so, please tell me how to disable it.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards
