RE450 Extender Connection Drops Out
Good morning,
I have recently started having issues with my RE450 wifi repeater intermittently losing internet connection.
Here is some information about the issue; I would be grateful if you could help me diagnose and resolve this.
1. Led status on RE when issue happens.
LED remains solid on the RE and everything looks fine.
2. Try to log in range extender web page when issue occurs and share a photo of Status page.
Nothing looks untoward on the extender webpage. However, I can see the internet connection drop out from my Tether app every 15s or so.
3. How often does RE lose Internet and how to recover, like reboot RE or reboot router?
The connection recovers by itself in 10s or so without rebootung RE or router
4. Brand and model of router & Network topology, e.g. Router AX1500 <wireless> RE450.
My router is a vodafone THG3000. The RE450 is simply extending the signal from this to upstairs in my home.
5. Firmware and hardware version of RE: How to find the hardware and firmware version of my TP-Link device?
See above.
6. For dual-band extender, verify if the problem is with 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz or both.
I have switched off the 5GHz signal on both my router and the RE450 and the issue persists as described.
7. When did you buy the extender, and how long has it been working fine with the same router?
I have been using the extender with success for the last few years and with the same router.
8. Does the issue particularly happen during in certain/ large-traffic network activities, like P2P download, streaming, or gaming?
The issue appears independent of usage and everything else. I tried moving the RE450 into the same room as my router but the issue persists, confirming it is not a location problem. I have also upgraded my firmware from version 1.01 and this has not made a difference. I have followed the troubleshooting tips in this article: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/272398 including "case 1" and DHCP but this has also been unsuccessful.
Please could you advise on next steps? I am running out of ideas and minded to purchase a new repeater to resolve the disruption.
Thanks in advance.
