Model: RE705X
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20241210 Rel. 68355

I'm experiencing slower speeds with ethernet backhaul (60-150Mbps) than with wireless backhaul (250-300Mbps) on my RE705X in easymesh mode. My main router usually achieves speeds of 280-320Mbps.

It just doesn't make sense to me because shouldn't I be theoretically experiencing better speeds with ethernet backhaul?

This is also true with I use Access Point mode with ethernet backhaul. But the speeds are actually worse in this mode.

Main Router: AX53 V1 US

Satellite: RE705X V2 US

Both devices with up to date firmware and both confirmed to support Easymesh with ethernet backhaul and this is confirmed in the settings. Connected by CAT6 UTP cable. 300Mbps internet plan.

Hello@ChaseGo ,

Welcome to our community.

First of all, please confirm the region version of your extender. If it is an EU version, please note that it currently doesn't support EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul. So, the LAN port of RE705X is an output port.

When you change it to Access Point mode, please confirm that you have set it correctly: How to configure Range Extender as an Access Point via Tether APP.

In addition, please test different Ethernet cables.

Best Regards.
