Model: Archer AX1500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I've been trying to flash the latest firmware on my TP Link AX1500 router via rescue mode or TFTP. Reason I'm doing this is that the router was offered by the ISP with a custom firmware that disabled the "upgrade firmware" buttons both via the interface and TP Link tether.

I've downloaded the latest firmware version for hardware version 1.0, EU model, and when I enter rescue mode (ethernet connection, set to 192.168.0.66) by resetting the router with the WPS button pressed, once I try to upload the firmware, it goes up to 8-11% then returns an error "Wrong file name".

I am confident I am using the right firmware (Archer AX1500(EU)_V1_1.3.11 Build 20250325). I've tried to upgrade via TFTP but it seems that the router won't return any information, so that I can see what the file name is supposed to be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @AndresXML ,

Welcome to our community.

Do you mean that you got the router via ISP, and ISP has installed a customized firmware on it?

If your router is an ISP-customized device, you should flash the ISP-customized firmware. So, you won't be able to download and update the regular firmware.

Can you confirm the specific model?
