Model : TL-WR710N

Hardware Version : Not Clear

Firmware Version : 3.16.12

ISP : not relevant

Hi.
I think there is a firmwarebug which lets the webserver crash.
I have also mailed this to tp-link support but I think this is interesting for the users.

I have a WR710N V2 and V1.2

The V2 was delivered on Monday with a Firmware < 3.16.12 (I don't know which).
After upgrade to 3.16.12 the internal webserver crashes if there is not Internetconnection and I try to start my supporttool "GoToAssist Expert".

Many tests later I found an issue to reproduce the crash.
open telnet 192.168.0.254 80
Press Enter. Now there come the message "Bad Request" and the webserver is dead.

I have testet the same with Hardware V 1.2

Firmware 3.14.9:

Open Telnet 192.168.0.254 80
Press Enter
There comes HTML Code with "Password incorrect"

Upgrade to Firmware 3.16.12
Open Telnet 192.168.0.254 80
Press Enter
Bad Request, Webserver dead

Downgrade to 3.14.9, webserver won't crash

So it seems to be a bug in Version 3.16.12

Does anybody know which firmware is on Hardware V2 by delivery ?
TP-Link Website only offers 3.16.12.
TP-Link Support says that there is no other firmware but Amazon has delivery with another Version

Perhaps someone can try to reproduce this on other devices.
Sorry for my bad english.

Best regards
Michael

Hope the text above will help people who had the problem that the webinterface is not available.
There is a bug in the firmware.

By using GoToAssist (or telnet) the webserver crash.

TP-Link Germany Support told me now the ultimate solution for my problem.
I should use another software then GoToAssist.
If GotoAssist let crash the webserver they can't help me.
Or I should try OpenWRT at own risk.

Sorry, but this support is a really big bulls*'*t.
I send the router back to amazon and buy a FritzBox.

Souch a bad support I have not get a long time ago.
