No 6ghz band available after Upgrade
Hi all,
I just upgraded from x50 to xe75 pro.
Used in access point mode.
I have added the new decos and removed to x50s.
To my horror no 6 ghz band is available in the app.
I have upgraded the firmware and reinstalled the app. Still no go.
When I click on a satellite deco it says connected over 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz_1.
Under WiFi settings and advanced when I click on band only 2.4 and 5 ghz bands are shown.
This made sense for the x50s but now I only have xe75 pros on the network.
Can anyone please advise.
This was purchased as an upgrade to get better WiFi backhaul between the units.
As it is, there is zero improvement as 6ghz is not coming in to play.

Don't worry about it.
I spent the last 24 hours figuring it out. It is not possible to simply add xe75 Pro to an existing x 50 network. You will never get the six gigahertz band to show. The only way to remedy this situation is to scrap the network remove all units from the existing wireless network. Then create exactly the same set up from scratch using the X e75 pros from the very beginning. It would have been very useful to know this before I wasted all of the time trying to preserve all of my existing network and it's clients only to find that the network that was originally set up under pins the features that are available going forward. So x e75 pros maybe backward compatible however you are restricted to the Technologies that the original wireless network was set up with in this case 2.4 gigahertz and 5 gigahertz bands only.

Can you provide the hardware version of your deco? You can find it on the bottom of your deco

Ok there is a new beta firmware that fixes this issue but not sure you can use it. Going to let a member of the Tp link staff know about this post he should get back to you in a few hours if you can use the beta firmware or not.

Is the issue that I have upgraded and the original network on the X50s was only 2.4 and 5 available?
Would there be any other solution?
I'd like to try to avoid forgetting the network and building from scratch as I've a lot of devices on there.
As you can appreciate the reason I went with decos again was to avoid this exact scenario.
Otherwise there was literally no point in upgrading and I may as well go back to the x50 setup as the xe75 pros give me no improvement in backhaul performance which was the only reason for the upgrade.

I re-read your problem. If you place the decos in router mode instead of AP mode do you have the option?

So the problem is with the firmware of the XE75 pro and there is a beta patch that is out that fixes the problem but, I'm not sure you can use it with your deco so i sent this post to a memeber of the tp-link staff

If you still had the X50 units hooked up and one of them was set to the main it "could" effect which options and features you had access to. But since all your running is the XE75 I'm betting it's the firmware. David will be able to help you once his shift starts in a few hours :)
