Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version:

I am facing a recurring problem with my TP-Link Archer C6 v4.0 router. The issue is that the wireless radio keeps disabling itself automatically.

What I’ve tried so far:

  • Performed multiple hard resets

  • Flashed both official firmware and beta firmware

  • Checked region, channel, and scheduling settings

  • Tried toggling Wi-Fi with the WPS/Wi-Fi button

  • Verified there is no Wireless Schedule or Night Mode enabled

Despite all this, the issue continues. The only temporary workaround I’ve found is:

  • I have to connect my laptop to the router via LAN

  • Log in to the admin page

  • Manually enable the wireless radio again

However, this is only a temporary fix — the Wi-Fi turns off again after a few days, and sometimes even within a few hours.

This makes the router almost unusable as a wireless device. Has anyone else faced this issue on Archer C6 v4.0? Is there a permanent solution, or is this a known hardware/firmware defect in this version?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @Daksh_V,

Thanks for your reply.

It seems we've tried everything we can. It's more likely that the device is aging and has a hardware-related issue. It is recommended that you consider a new router to restore network access.

Hello@Daksh_V ,

Welcome to our community!

When did you buy the router? When the wireless connection drops, will the WiFi lights turn off?

Please reset the router as follows: Press and hold the reset button for more than 5 seconds to reset the router to its factory default settings.

Also, is there anyone else who can log into your router's management interface?

Please make sure no one else has accidentally turned off the wireless radio.

Best Regards.

Hello @Joseph-TP,

Thank you for the response.

To clarify:

  • The router was purchased in 2021.

  • No one else has access to the management interface, so it’s not being turned off accidentally.

  • I have already tried multiple factory resets as per your instructions.

  • The issue persists even after flashing to the latest and beta firmware versions.

  • When the Wi-Fi drops, the Wi-Fi indicator light also turns off.

  • The only way to temporarily restore it is by connecting through LAN, logging in, and manually enabling the wireless radio again. Unfortunately, it automatically disables again after a few hours or days.

Could this be a hardware-related issue with this version of the router? Please advise if there are any advanced troubleshooting steps, or if servicing/replacement is the only solution.

Best regards,
Daksh
