How to revert from last firmware 2.2.1
How could I proceed with a factory reset to rollback the firmware at the original factory version?
TP-Link should give us the possibility of doing that.
I tried the reset button for 10 sec. The only thing it did was to reset the config only, not the firmware version.
I'm not very happy also about the metadata collection from my internet activity. Is there a way to opt-out of this?
Thanks

Hello @Denis_B ,
Welcome to our community.
This firmware has New Features/Enhancement:
1. Supported more parental control functions, including SafeSearch, YouTube Restricted, APP Time Limits, Always Allowed APPs, Offtime, etc.
2. Enhanced Web Filter, enriched visited/block history and optimized Blocked APPs for parental control.
3. Enhanced security functions of device.
4. Optimized QoS.
“metadata collection from internet activity.” Which specific interface feature does this refer to? Could you provide a screenshot for reference?
May I know if there any problems with using the router after the new firmware update? We are happy to collect user feedback, which is highly valuable for improving our services and product quality.

Hi Joseph, following the upgrade to 2.2.1, I logged to the router and tried to see who was connected. A pop-up window appeared and said that Client detection has been enhanced and it was refering to metadata collection...
Metadata sharing with TP-Link is also well documented on the web regarding the Homecare and security services embedded in the routers.
I'm not a big fan of metadata sharing with third parties. I'm not too happy about what I've discovered on that.
Second subject is firmware management in the router. How come I can't rollback to any of the past versions from 2.2.1? Each time I got an error. We should have the ability to put whatever version we want in the router.
Please send me the procedure to do that.
Thanks,
Denis

Hello @Denis_B ,
After verification, this feature primarily enhances client identification accuracy and will theoretically prompt a pop-up window to ask users about their usage preferences.
On the Web UI, you can follow qazwsxedc16's suggestion to disable it.
In the app, navigate to More > System > About to turn off information sharing.
