Model: Archer AX3000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: TP-Link_BBCO

Hi,

I called the help line as I couldn't change the password ( new router) and the call ctre person told me to take smart connect off.

my 1st question is now I've changed passwords do I turn it back it on?

2) in the Tether  app it detected a random MAC address. I had previously turned on my laptop ( not MAC) and connected to the laptop but the IP address was correct) it then stated that this can cause issues?
is this a problem?
thanks Nena

Hello@NenaM ,

Welcome to our community.

Do you want to set different Wireless passwords for different WiFi bands? If you enable smart connect, 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz will share the same SSID and Wireless password. Please refer to What is the TP-Link Smart Connect feature and how to enable it?

For the random MAC address questions, I think you can refer to Why did I receive a new device connection alert when a known device joined the network? for details.
