TP-Link Archer MR550 fully looses connection once per day until restarted
Hello Everyone,
I have a small issue with my new router.
Essentially, once a day it fully looses connection until restarted and I cant seem to find any good reason as to why.
No downtime or overloads and no direct hints towards a service outage in that time window.
My phone is on the same carriers network and does not suffer such issues.
The setting should be pretty much defautl.
Only thing that I saw in the logs hinting to this problem are 2 log entries regarding Exceptions occuring in that same timewindow:
| 5 | 4G | Error | Exception:get_dns_state fail | |
| 6 | 4G | Error | Exception:fopen fail |
Any help would be appreciated.

Checking a bit futher, doesnt look like its really dependent on the time either - just seems to happen when a specifc device - in this case my desktop pc - connects.
Then the internet access pretty much dies.
I have set an automatic restart around the time when it usually happens, today however i happened to only turn on my devices later which also caused the crash to occur later.

Sadly not, after some more messing around I have figured out one more key pieces of information.
The entire firmware just seems to crash outright.
I confirmed this by connecting a lan cable and just trying to access the UI at all.
Accessing the UI becomes nigh impossible when this happens, so my guess that its an issue with the firmware proper and probably a bug somewhere that doesnt end up logged - however there is no real information I can give beyond that.
What I have tried up to this point:
- Daily restarts in case these crashes are runtime dependent - nope
- Changed connection settings back to the defaults in case something weird is happening with the settings and connection to the moblie network - nope
None of this has helped however and I will most likely add this in a bug thread, since to me this looks like a pretty clear firmware bug to me.

One thing I am trying now is to just re-install the firmware despite the most current one already being installed - thought is, maybe there is an issue with how the router was shipped and something is wrong with the factory settings.
Will update in the coming days to see how well it works.

Trying different Firmware versions did also not work.
I contacted technical support now to find a solution, will update further when something new happens.
