Model: RE450
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I am planning to install a small CCTV network of about 4 PTZ POE TP link cameras. I dont want to use a NVR buti I want to be able to access onboard SD cards and operate PTZ using the TP App. I have a 6 port POE switch and a TP Link RE450 wifi extender. The POE switch and RE450 will be sited in the loft where I have Wifi Signal but unable to run a CAT5 cable to my router.

I plan on connecting  the RE450 to the POE switch by cable. I am unsure how I should configure the RE450 either as a bridge or access point. I have read that as a bridge latency can be as much as 10Sec as this would be unaceptable.

Suggestions for a solution would be appreciated.

Hi,

As indicated in the "Change Mode" menu of the RE450, in Access Point mode the RE450 needs to be connected to the router by Ethernet cable.
