Model: Archer BE230
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I am currently using AX1500 router which has a VPN feature. For some reason the VPN doesn't make much sense at all, as you cannot assign VPN clients addresses from the same pool or subnet as your main network, which makes it difficult or impossible for applications to connect to devices from the main network (to me that's the only sense to use VPN at all).

It seems to be working for webpages sometimes somehow, but gaming servers etc. don't seem to work with such a solution.

Here's my DHCP (inb4 questions my primary DNS is set to a Pihole):

Here is a try to set up VPN addres pool OUTSIDE the DHCP pool in the same subnet (trying the same pool as DHCP doesnt work, my config which works uses 192.168.0.x pool):

I am planning to get a new router, and I honestly like TP-Link firmware and how this works. I got 2 gbit internet and I am planning on buying the BE230 router to get the 2.5gbit lan and faster wifi in general, but i need a functioning VPN for all scenarios.

Question is - Is this fixed on BE230, does BE230 allow assigning addresses from the DHCP pool or at least in the same subnet?

Maybe I am doing something wrong or I don't understand something?

Any help will be much appreciated.
