AX55 Pro keeps crashing – unknown firmware
Hello community!
I have an AX55 Pro V1 (EU) that regularly loses its internet connection. When this happens, it can no longer be accessed via the web interface to reset it.
Also interesting is firmware version 1.4.3 Build 20250813 rel.63911(4555), which cannot be found anywhere, not even on the support page. It is not possible to reflash the firmware.
In addition, the web interface is sluggish.
Has anyone else in the forum observed this?
My setup looks like this:
FRITZBox 7530AX (modem) --> AX55 Pro (router) --> PA8010P --> 3x WPA8631P in the mesh network
Is there a way to upgrade (or reinstall) the firmware or downgrade to a stable version?
Many thanks,
Gregor

@showview Yes - I have the same router, same firmware (which I did manage to find on https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/archer-ax55-pro/v1/#Firmware) and the same problem! I did not flash it manually, the router notified me about the new firmware, and I let it download and install it...
When it happens, the WAN-diode turns orange (from its usual green), and there is no way to get it to do anything but to physically power cycle it. Then it starts working, and after 5-10 minutes it crashes again...
No, I do not have any idea for a solution...

Okay, I have made a bit of a discovery here...
I have an old ASUS router that is set up as an access point, and it I remove the cable to that from the Archer, after 10 seconds or so, the WAN-light turns green and everything seems to work. As I do not have to power cycle the router then, thereby clearing the system log, I can now see the log entries made during the "crash", and it looks to me like the DHCP renewal with the ISP fails, likely because the ASUS interferes with it? There are a LOT of lines like this:

If you have a similar setup, it may be a thing to try?

Thanks for trying. I've given up and will send the router back (Amazon).
I reflashed the firmware today --> no change in behavior. I also noticed that the download speed is extremely slow during the speed test (via the Archer). Without the Archer, the speeds via the PA8010 and WPA8631 are fine, but with the Archer, as already mentioned.
I'll stick with my existing system for now.
But thank you very much for your efforts.

Hello @Rander,
Thanks for contacting our community.
Is your network topology as below:
Modem--Archer AX55 Pro--ASUS router(AP mode).
Are you saying that the Archer AX55 Pro's network became more stable after removing the ASUS router? Could they work together stably and reliably before? Did all of this start after the firmware update?

Hello @showview ,
Welcome to our community.
May I know if you still have your router with you?
Have you updated the firmware? If you are still willing to troubleshoot this issue with us, I suggest removing the powerline adapters first and then see if the network becomes stable again.
If you have already returned the router, we regret that, but we respect your decision.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

I do not have a modem - my Archer is connected directly to a RJ45-plug in the wall, but otherwise yes.
Yes, it did start after the firmware upgrade, and yes, it worked reliably before. After power cycling the ASUS, it has now worked reliably for five days, so it was either a coincidence that it happened when updating the firmware or the ASUS needed to re-negotiate something with the Archer and would only do so at boot...

Hi@Rander ,
It seems that there may be unstable connectivity between the two routers. Can I know the ASUS model?

It is a RT-N66U - not exactly top of the line... It is (as mentioned previously) set to AP mode.

Hello @Rander ,
Does setting the ASUS router to wireless router mode improve the situation?
Also, please contact ASUS router support to see if this issue requires any configuration changes on the ASUS router. For example, make sure the DHCP server is disabled on the router in AP mode.
