Hello,

We've just had a sudden failure of our MR6400 router. It was working just fine then suddenly the internet went off.

I can still access the status page but it just showed the internet was disconnected.

Reboot and power cycle did nothing.

Thankfully we have a spare MR6400 router here so swapped it over and we are back on again.

It's the same sim card, power supply and antenna. The only difference is the router so that's must be the problem.

I think the routers approx 2yrs old.

Any ideas what could have happened or how to go about fixing it.

Thanks.

since the spare MR6400 works fine with the same SIM, PSU and antenna it really points to the first unit having a hardware fault most likely the LTE/4G modem inside has failed which sadly isn’t uncommon after a couple of years of 24/7 use you can still log in to the web UI because the main router board is alive but if the LTE module isn’t detected or can’t register it will just show disconnected no matter what you try you could check if it’s on the latest firmware or do a factory reset but if the IMEI or signal shows blank under status then the LTE part is gone and the only real fix is replacement which you already did with your spare

  @Vendex

Oh dear! I was fearing we had suffered a hardware failure.

It's worrying you say it's not uncommon.

Better start thinking about a replacement and backup solution before this one fails too.

Thanks for your help!
