According to our knowledge base, while you can mix Deco models in one mesh network and use the X75 as the main Deco, HomeShield network security features will only be available on the X75 itself. The Deco P9 does not support HomeShield, so any satellite units that are Deco P9 will not be protected by HomeShield features. To have full HomeShield protection across your entire mesh network, all Deco units in your network would need to support HomeShield, which means replacing your Deco P9 units with models like the Deco X75.

Yes, you can set the Deco X75 as the main unit and keep your Deco P9 units in the same mesh. Since all traffic in a Deco mesh passes through the main Deco, the HomeShield protection (such as malicious site blocking, intrusion prevention, parental controls, etc.) will apply to all devices in your network, no matter which Deco they connect to. However, keep in mind that older models like the Deco P9 do not support HomeShield on their own, so advanced features (like detailed client reports or per-node statistics) will only be available on the X75. Also, the overall performance of the mesh will be limited by the slower units. If you want full HomeShield functionality on every Deco in your mesh, you would need to replace the P9 units with models that support HomeShield, such as the X75 as HelpFixDecoApp suggests
