Subject: Critical USB Storage Bug in Archer AX55 Firmware 1.4.1

Hello, I'm experiencing critical issues with USB storage on Archer AX55 after upgrading from firmware 1.3.5 to 1.4.1.
SYMPTOMS: - Multiple external drives disconnecting randomly - Error in logs: "Failed to read USB3" - Services (Samba, FTP, DLNA) constantly restarting - Issue occurs with ALL drives, not just one specific model
SETUP: - Router: Archer AX55 - Firmware: 1.4.1 (current) - PROBLEM - Firmware: 1.3.5 (previous) - WORKED PERFECTLY - Drives tested: WD P10 5TB, other HDD and SSD  - File systems: NTFS, exFAT  
Connection: USB 3.0 port / powered hub
 

REQUESTED ACTION:
1. Please investigate USB subsystem changes in 1.4.1
2. Allow firmware downgrade to 1.3.5 OR
3. Release fixed firmware 1.4.2 with USB fixes

  @Joseph-TP according to my research, it was a problem with Windows 10 last updates, which made more strength security policies. After making changes in registry, my router and HDD are working good.

hello @Cyrbab ,

Besides updating the firmware, have you modified any settings?
Can you try a hard reset on the Archer AX55: Press and hold the button until the Power LED blinks to reset the router to its factory default settings.

For the sake of insurance, it's always recommended to save a copy of the router's Backup Config file before a hard reset.
