Model: Archer GE550
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20250828 rel.57524(4555)

I just bought a Archer GE550 router. I want to extend my wifi using Easy Mesh. Will that be possible using a Mercusys MR47BE v1 and a Mercusys MR27BE v1? Does anyone have experience from using Easy Mesh in such a scenario or similar?

In theory yes - both the MR47BE and MR27BE state EasyMesh support, and TP-Link’s Archer GE550 supports EasyMesh too. Make sure you update firmware on all devices, enable EasyMesh on the GE550 first, factory-reset the Mercusys nodes and add them as satellites (WPS or EasyMesh UI). If possible use Ethernet backhaul for higher stability. Note that cross-vendor EasyMesh usually works for basic mesh functions (single SSID/roaming) but can sometimes be flaky or miss vendor-specific features - update firmware and try a factory reset if you run into issues

Have you used EasyMesh yourself? Do you have own practical experience from using EM?

@Uffez Yes - I’m currently using EasyMesh myself with an Archer GE800 and three mesh nodes: two RE700X (one of them connected via Ethernet backhaul) and one RE600X. The setup has been working very well, with stable roaming and good throughput across the network.

In general, EasyMesh between TP-Link and Mercusys devices should also work fine for the main functions like unified SSID and seamless roaming, as both follow the same EasyMesh standard. Just make sure all devices are on the latest firmware and have been factory reset before pairing - that usually ensures the smoothest setup process

@Vendex I will give it s try. Unfortunately my GE550 needs replacement first as somehow it is broken as you can see in other threads.

Ok. I will give it a try as soon as I have received a replacement for my GE550 which is broken.
