Dear all,

the Unit with one Ethernet-socket TL-PA8010P died. No LED on anymore. It seems to be a common issue.

There are 2 capacitors 6.3V 1000uF used for the DC-DC converter which seem to be at the limit of the specification. They were blown up. As a consequence the voltage becomes too low with bad capacitors after long usage. When the network-cable is connected the power-save mode will never come up no matter if data is transferred or not. So the unit runs 8760h/year. Capacitors are limited anyway in live-time, but a better type would work longer.

A repair is possible by putting in a new capacitor / capacitors. As the capacitors are in parallel, one bigger type will work as well.

I used a 2200uF with 25V I had on stock. There is enough space in height in the housing for a different type.

The unit works well again ;-)

I have the same problem but it is the bigger capacitor 400V 10uF that is blown up. I will try to get it fixed.

OK, you should check the rectifier as well, if the capacitor at input side of the power supply is blown up.

good luck
