Archer AX73 keeps resetting to factory settings
Hi all,
I’m experiencing a recurring issue with my TP-Link Archer AX73 (v1.0). I’ve been using this router for about 3 years without any problems, but recently it started resetting to factory settings on its own, even after proper configuration.
So far I have:
-
Disabled TP-Link ID and auto-updates
 -
Set the time manually
 -
Used a new power supply
 -
Downgraded firmware to 1.3.5 and 1.3.6
 -
Configured manually after a physical factory reset

The router works normally for some hours, then resets again. Logs show repeated initialization and “config importing failed” messages for the LED controller.
Has anyone experienced this on AX73 or similar models? Could this be a hardware issue, or is there a reliable firmware/workaround?
Thanks in advance!

Hello @dimkas_mee ,
Welcome to our community.
If your router is frequently restoring itself to factory defaults, this is not normal behavior and could be related to hardware failure, firmware corruption, or power supply issues. Here are some steps you can take to address this:
1. Ensure a stable power source:
 • Double-check that the router is connected to a reliable power outlet and that you are using the original or a compatible power adapter.
2. Perform a hard reset:
 • Press and hold the WPS/RESET button for more than 10 seconds with a pin until the SYS LED flashes rapidly. Release the button and wait for the router to reboot. This will restore factory settings. Note: Make sure the power source is stable during this process, as a power interruption could damage the router.
• If the router continues to reset itself, this may indicate a hardware issue. In this case, please contact local support for further assistance and provide details of the troubleshooting steps you've already taken.

Sanitize it, go into the FW section and reload the existing or updated if there is one FW and start fresh.

 -
Downgraded the firmware to the previous version (v1.3.5) via cable.
 -
Disabled automatic time synchronization, TP-Link ID, and firmware auto-updates.
 -
Configured the router manually (not using a saved config file).
