Model: Archer TX20U Plus
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hi everyone,

I have a strange issue. The wireless antenna works fine when you plug it, but after a pc shutdown, the next time the pc starts the device is being shown in device manager but is unresponsive (no led, no wifi present in windows). What could be causing it?

If I go to device manager and "Scan for hardware changes" it will then start working again.

Things I tried:

- Different usb ports both 3.0 and 3.1

- Disabling of Power Management stuff both in windows and the device itself

Thanks

Hello @Mouraklanis ,

Thanks for contacting our community.

Here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Scan for Hardware Changes: As you've noticed, scanning for hardware changes in Device Manager temporarily resolves the issue. This suggests a possible driver or hardware initialization problem at startup.
2. Try Disabling the Original Adapter: If your PC has a built-in wireless adapter, disable it in Device Manager to avoid conflicts.
3. Test on Another Computer: Plug the adapter into a different computer to see if the issue repeats. This can help determine if the problem is with the adapter or your PC.
4. Reinstall the Driver: Uninstall the current driver for the adapter from Device Manager, then download and install the latest driver from the official TP-Link website.
5. USB Root Hub Power Management (Optional):
• Go to Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
• Double-click each 'USB Root Hub', go to Properties > Power Management, and uncheck 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'.
• Repeat for all USB Root Hubs, then restart your computer.
6. Try Different USB/PCIe Slots: Even though you've tried different ports, testing all available slots can help rule out port-specific issues.
