Archer BE230 – IGMP / IPTV Issue: Cannot Use Internet and IPTV at the Same Time
Hello TP-Link Support Team,
I’ve encountered an issue with the Archer BE230 router related to IGMP and IPTV configuration.
When setting up IPTV on the router, the interface allows me to select either Internet or IPTV mode for a LAN port — but not both simultaneously.
Because of this, my IPTV set-top box can receive the TV multicast stream, but it loses Internet access (no connectivity for apps like YouTube or updates).
It seems that the BE230 firmware does not currently support the “Internet + IPTV” mode that exists on older Archer models (for example, Archer C6 or AX20).
I also noticed that IGMP Proxy and Snooping don’t seem to work properly when IPTV mode is active — the multicast stream passes, but unicast traffic is blocked.
Could you please confirm:
-
Is this a known firmware limitation on the BE230?
-
Are there any upcoming updates to allow Internet + IPTV operation on the same LAN port?
-
Is there a workaround or advanced configuration (e.g., VLAN or manual IGMP settings) that would enable both IPTV and Internet simultaneously?
Thank you for your assistance — this feature is important for IPTV users who also need Internet access on their set-top boxes.
Best regards,
Dmitry
