Add “Internet + IPTV” Mode Support for Archer BE230
I would like to request the addition of a feature for the Archer BE230 router related to IPTV and IGMP configuration.
Currently, the router allows selecting either Internet or IPTV mode for a LAN port, but not both at the same time.
This limitation causes IPTV set-top boxes to lose Internet connectivity when the IPTV mode is enabled — for example, apps such as YouTube or system updates stop working on the STB.
Older TP-Link models (e.g., Archer C6, C80, AX20) include an “Internet + IPTV” mode that lets a LAN port handle both regular Internet traffic and multicast IPTV streams simultaneously, which is very useful for many ISPs (such as Rostelecom, MTS, and Beeline in Russia).
I kindly ask you to consider adding this “Internet + IPTV” functionality to the BE230 firmware.
Ideally, this mode would:
-
Allow multicast IPTV and unicast Internet traffic on the same LAN port,
-
Work together with IGMP Proxy and IGMP Snooping,
-
Support custom VLAN IDs for IPTV where needed.
This feature would greatly improve compatibility for users who watch IPTV and also need Internet access on their set-top boxes.
Thank you for your attention and for continuously improving your products!
Best regards,
Dmitry
