More wifi controll needed
The Deco XE75 is missing several important settings that matter in dense apartment environments:
-
Manual channel selection: No way to choose the Wi-Fi channel per band.
-
Channel width options:
-
5 GHz: Only 80/160 MHz are available (no 20/40 MHz).
-
6 GHz: Width control is missing completely.
-
-
DFS usage on 5 GHz: No DFS toggle, and “Network Optimization” never moves to DFS channels—even though they’re legal where I live and sit empty, while non-DFS channels are packed.
-
Static IP in AP mode: Can’t set a static IP for the Deco itself when running in AP mode.
-
Transmit power control: No way to reduce Wi-Fi transmit power.
Impact: In an apartment complex the system tends to blast full-power Wi-Fi at ≥80 MHz on already crowded non-DFS 5 GHz channels, which hurts performance and coexistence.
Feature requests:
-
Manual channel selection per band (2.4/5/6 GHz).
-
Finer channel-width controls (5 GHz: 20/40/80/160; 6 GHz: 20/40/80/160 where supported).
-
A DFS enable/disable option and logic that can prefer DFS when clear.
-
Static IP configuration for the main node in AP mode.
-
Per-band transmit-power settings (low/medium/high or in dBm).
Could you confirm if these are on the roadmap for the XE75 and share any firmware plans? Thanks!
