Model: ER707-M2
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1

Hi all,

This weekend I upgraded my ER707 to the latest stable firmware version (1.3.1).

Following the upgrade my wife's work laptop seems to no longer be able to set an IP address from the gateway's DHCP server. I haven't changed any other settings on the network or the laptop.

I'm not sure if the problem is the new firmware version or even the DHCP server, but it seems to be a highly coincidental that everything was working fine Friday but Sunday we have this problem.

I was wondering if anyone else was having a similar issue.

Here are a few further details:
- The problem seems to occur only with this laptop.

- Being this a work device, I don't have much access to its configuration apart from being able to verify it's not getting an IP address, and when the address is set manually it works fine.

- I can see on the Omada events that the DHCP server issues the IP address. However I don't have access to the full transaction log to see what happens after that.

Thank you

Can anyone help please?

Definitely something changed when going from v1.3.0 to v1.3.1 in relation to the DHCP server. My feeling is that this would be something in relation to the DHCP options.

Thank you

If there is only one PC with problems, try deleting the PC object from the Omada console.

  @MR.S thank you.

I will try this, however this is likely the only device that presents this issue because it's the only corporate device on the network and it has a more tied down / restricted SOE.

Cheers

Hi.

Did you change something on the client's config on the Omada interface like binding it to an AP or use fixed IP address?

You can try to delete it by going to Insights > Known Clients > then delete the laptop entry using the trash button.

  @Chrisp250

When the issue occurs, please click on the device and then look for “Device Info” in the small pop-up window on the right, and export it for us to analyze the problem.
