Model: RE315
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 250829 Rel.52371n

Hi,

I have a RE315, which I have just updated to the latest firmware. Router is an EX230v / AX1800 supplied by my ISP.

In the router settings, easy mesh is enabled but scanning for mesh devices does not find the range extender.

In the repeater settings, enabling easymesh gives the following message which is inconsistent with what the router is saying.

Device Status:

Not connected to any EasyMesh network

EasyMesh is disabled or not supported on the host router. View EasyMesh Device List

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Hi,

TP-Link range extenders cannot be found by scanning on the router.

To add the RE315 to the router's EasyMesh network either use the WPS button method or go through the "Quick Setup" of the RE315.

Edit: Since the RE315 with the latest firmware supports EasyMesh via Ethernet backhaul you can also try to add it to the router's EasyMesh by connecting it via Ethernet cable to one of the router's LAN ports. If successful, you could then unplug the Ethernet cable and it would automatically switch to a Wi-Fi EasyMesh connection.
