Model: Archer AX1500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20250729 Rel. 73566(4555)

I think I have a similar issue as this one, maybe the exact same issue: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/517920

I also have the Archer AX1500 as my main router with a Archer C20 wirelessly bridged to it. I keep getting an entry from an old device on the IP & Mac Binding settings screen. I try to delete it and it eventually pops back up. I can't bind my new device to the IP address. I get an "Operation failed" message when I try to do that. I tried deleting the entry from the DHCP address reservation screen and then adding it on IP & Mac binding screen and this seems to work, strangely. However then I can't add the entry to DHCP address reservation. I tried rebooting both routers at the same time and this doesn't seem to fix the issue either.

Hello @baadsfli ,

Welcome to our community.

Is your router Archer AX12? Please refer to How to find the model number of your TP-Link device .

AX1500 is likely the WiFi specification of your router.

To clarify, the IP & MAC Binding feature allows you to associate a specific MAC address with a particular IP address, ensuring that only the device with that MAC address can use the assigned IP on your network. However, this is different from DHCP Address Reservation, which simply reserves an IP address for a device but does not enforce a strict binding.

Here are some steps you can try:

1. Delete the entry from both the IP & MAC Binding and DHCP Address Reservation screens for the old device. Make sure to save changes after each deletion.
2. Reboot your router after deleting the entries to ensure the settings are refreshed.
3. Add the new device first in the DHCP Address Reservation section, then in the IP & MAC Binding section, if needed.
4. If you continue to see the old entry reappear or receive operation errors, try clearing your browser cache or use a different browser to rule out display issues.
5. Make sure your router firmware is up to date, as firmware updates can resolve unexpected behavior in the management interface.

For more detailed instructions on configuring IP & MAC Binding, please refer to the official FAQ: How to configure IP&MAC Binding Wi-Fi Routers (new logo)

Note: If you only want to reserve a specific IP address for a device, it's recommended to use the DHCP Address Reservation feature. IP & MAC Binding is stricter and may not be necessary for most home setups.

Best Regards.

IP&MAC binding is a completely different feature than DHCP address reservation.

IP&MAC binding is a security feature that prevets MAC address spoofing.

When you use IP&MAC binding you should not add the same entry in the DHCP address reservation.
