Is there any way to change the Hostname of RE305 that appears on the main router?
I bought it yesterday. It's hostname wasn't showing up on the main router. But right after I uodated to the latest firmware (there was no hostname changelog before I updated), the hostname "RE305" showed up on the clients list. Is there any way to hide it? If not, how to downlgrade safely to the version 1.0.50? Thanks in advance

You can't change the RE305 hostname, but you can try to downgarde its FW to v1.0.50.
Some FW allow that - you have to do that manually (don't forget to unzip the downloaded file and use the .bin file).
If the new FW v1.1.0 doesn't allow downgrading to a previous FW version you'll get an error message.

Hi,
As terziyski already said, the hostname can't be modified on the RE305.
I've had a RE305 V4 and two other RE devices from TP-Link for years and with any firmware version they reported their model number as their hostname to the main router.
However, how range extenders are reported in the router's client list may vary depending on the router model and range extender model.
For example, if the RE305 V4 is connected as a wireless range extender to a current model of TP-Link router, then the router's client list shows only one entry for the extender and everything that is connected to the extender. Whether that entry then shows the hostname of the RE305 or the hostname of a connected client device appears to be random.
So, my guess is that when you were on firmware version 1.0.50 and "RE305" didn't show up on your router's client list, then it just so happened that the hostname of another device you had connected to the RE305 showed up instead.
