Model: Archer BE230
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20250804 rel.79639

Hi TP-Link Team and Community,

I am writing to request a critical feature update for the Archer BE230 regarding its MLO (Multi-Link Operation) implementation.

Current Setup: I am currently using multiple Archer BE230 units in an EasyMesh configuration to cover my home. My client devices support Wi-Fi 7.

The Issue: Currently, when I enable the "MLO Network" feature on the main router, it functions as a standalone SSID that is broadcasted only by the main unit. The MLO network does not propagate to the satellite units within the EasyMesh topology.

As a result:

  1. When I move to a room covered by a satellite unit, my device loses the MLO connection.

  2. The satellite units do not seem to utilize the MLO capabilities for backhaul or fronthaul, limiting the potential of Wi-Fi 7 in a mesh environment.

The Request: Please release a firmware update that fully integrates the MLO Network into the EasyMesh protocol.

  • The MLO SSID should be broadcasted by all satellite nodes.

  • Devices should be able to roam seamlessly on the MLO network between the main router and satellites.

Without this feature, the benefit of Wi-Fi 7 (MLO) is restricted to the physical area of the main router, defeating the purpose of having a Wi-Fi 7 Mesh system.

Thank you for your support, and I hope to see this implemented in upcoming firmware updates.

Spot on! Adding 802.11r (Fast Roaming) along with MLO support in EasyMesh is exactly what this router needs to reach its full potential. I've updated the request to include this."

To everyone reading this: if you want to see these features in the next firmware update, please give this post an Upvote! Let's make sure the TP-Link team sees how much we need this."

Great additions! Supporting both '802.11r' and 'Roaming Bindings' alongside MLO is the perfect roadmap for the Archer BE230. These features would give us the professional-grade control we need for a Wi-Fi 7 Mesh setup

Also there are problems with SmartConnect, my TV has good but faster 5G and excellent but slowe 2.4G signal, but choses to connect 2.4G because of RSSI. If router may advise correctly(via SmartConnect/Band Steering correction or RSSI threshold setting), I can configure the right thing.

Excellent points,  It's clear that we need more than just basic connectivity. Improving SmartConnect with RSSI threshold settings, alongside 802.11r and full MLO Mesh support, would transform the BE230 into a top-tier performer.

Let's keep the momentum going! If you agree with these technical improvements, please Upvote this post to get TP-Link’s attention. We need these 'Pro' features in our next firmware
