[Request] EasyMesh Guest/IoT Network Extension missing on BE550 V1 & RE655BE (Comparison with AX55)
Hi TP-Link Team and Community,
I am writing this to request urgent prioritization for the EasyMesh Guest Network / IoT Network extension features for the Wi-Fi 7 lineup, specifically the Archer BE550 V1 and RE655BE V1.
Current Setup & Firmware:
-
Main Router: Archer BE550 V1 (Firmware: 1.2.1 Build 20250920 - Latest Official)
-
Satellite: RE655BE V1 (Firmware: 1.1.0 - Latest)
-
Legacy Device: Archer AX55 (Firmware: 1.4.1)
The Issue: I have a mixed environment with Wi-Fi 7 clients (Pixel 10 Pro XL) requiring WPA3, and legacy clients (Xbox Series S, IoT devices) that require WPA2. Currently, I cannot extend the Guest Network (configured as WPA2) to my satellites because the BE550 V1 does not support sending Guest/IoT SSIDs via EasyMesh yet.
The Frustrating Irony (BE550 vs. AX55): I recently updated my older Archer AX55 to firmware 1.4.1, and I noticed it fully supports "Guest Network" extension in EasyMesh settings. It is incredibly frustrating that my entry-level Wi-Fi 6 router (AX55) has more advanced EasyMesh features (Multi-SSID trunking) than my flagship Wi-Fi 7 Router (BE550) and high-end Extender (RE655BE).
My Question: Currently, my RE655BE is unable to repeat the Guest Network, and my AX55 sits uselessly as a node because the main BE550 cannot send the Guest SSID data to it.
Is there an ETA or a Beta Firmware available for the BE550 V1 that brings EasyMesh R4 / Guest Network Extension features?
We need feature parity with the older AX series to fully utilize these expensive Wi-Fi 7 devices.
Thanks, A Loyal TP-Link User
