Model: Archer C24
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Using as a Wi-Fi range extender it lost connection with the host router.

trying to reinstate the connection but the tether app is looking for the Wi-Fi of TP-Link_Extender which isn't showing as an available network

The C24 is visible with the app and I can connect to it using the Wi-Fi of TP-Link_A69E

I've reset the host router and reset the C24, the power light is constant green.

The C24 works cable connected it to the host router.

  @Joseph-TP

Thanks Joseph,

I'd previously had no end of trouble using the web portal, and it was suggested I used your tether app which worked perfectly up until this last loss of connection. So I tried reconnecting with the tether app only to discover that the app no longer supports the C24 as a range extender. When I went to the web portal it was great to see it had been vastly improved since my last visit, and the C24 connected faultlessly.

Cheers,

Scott R

Hello @ScottR-1963 ,

Welcome to our community.

If you want to set up the router to Range extender mode, it is recommended that you refer to Archer C24(EU)_V2_User Guide( from Page 12)

But if the connection is unstable, please refer to What if the Range Extender keeps losing connection?

Thanks for getting back to me.

It appears you can currently manage your devices through the web portal, which is good.

We recommend you continue with your current settings. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any more questions.

Re:Lost Wi-Fi connection to router
Wednesday

  @Joseph-TP

it's been a week or so and I'm back to square one with loss of connection and failure to find the host router.yet again - other devices have no problem finding the host router, iPads, iPhones, chrome cast, Samsung cell phones but not tplink!

The only reason I need this is the Wi-Fi module in our TV failed, and it was far cheaper to get this range extender than have the TV repaired.

Question - As I'm only using it as a range extender from our host router and cabling the extender to our TV and Blue Ray/Surround sound system do you produce a range extender that connects to the host router by Wi-Fi with 2 out ports for cable?

The frustration is real!

Hi @ScottR-1963 ,

Thanks for getting back to me.

We have range extenders such as RE800BE and RE900XD with multiple LAN ports.

For C24, it is recommended that you contact Local Technical Support for further assistance.
