Low download/upload speed
Hey guys! I bought the AX72 Pro, but unfortunately my download and upload speed cannot exceed 300Mbps. I've made tests via WiFi and cable connection, but both results were disappointing... My ISP provides me 800Mbps which I cannot achieve. Anyone with the same problem?

Hello@Dzhegalski ,
Welcome to our community.
If you are experiencing slow Internet speed with your TP-Link Archer Router, here are some steps to help:
1. Please use https://www.speedtest.net or the speedtest APP/CLI(https://www.speedtest.net/apps) for testing speed accurately.
2. Please make sure the speed of your ISP/Modem is good by connecting a PC directly into the ISP Modem/Router.
3. To verify wired(Ethernet) speed of your Router, please connect the PC directly into the LAN ports of the Router, make sure all Ethernet cables are CAT5E and above.
4. When testing with wireless, please connect your phone/laptop to the high speed network (5G/6G) instead of 2.4G. To achieve maximum throughput over wireless, place the phone/Laptop next to the Router.
Here are some tips that might improve the speed of your Archer Router:
- If Ethernet speed is slower than expected, please try different Ethernet cables (CAT5E or above) on the Router.
- Disable QoS, please access http://tplinkwifi.net and go to Advanced >> QoS to disable it.
- Disable Parental Control, please go to Advanced >> Parental Control to disable it.
- If wireless speed is slower than expected, please go to Advanced >> Wireless Settings to change the 5GHz Wi-Fi channel, you may try different channels to find the best one for your environment.
- Disable SIP ALG and UPNP: go to Advanced >> NAT Forwarding >> UPNP to disable UPNP; go to Advanced>> Security to disable SIP ALG.

I forgot about the QoS... Turned it t off and I have some progress, but still the download speed cannot exceed 350Mbps. The upload speed is through the roof. I think that's a separate issue, because I observe it only on WiFi. Got any advice?

Hello @Dzhegalski ,
Thanks for getting back to me.
If only the wireless download speed is not expected. Please try the following suggestions:
- access the router's web interface > Advanced > Wireless Settings, and try changing the 5GHz Wi-Fi channel. Test different channels to see which works best in your environment.
- Check Parental Control and make sure no parental control profiles are set up.
- Go to Advanced > NAT Forwarding > UPNP and disable UPNP. Also, go to Advanced > Security and disable SIP ALG. These features can affect Wi-Fi performance and speed test results.
- Speedtest by Ookla allows you to select different servers. Try testing with other servers, as some may provide better speeds.
