BE400 Rebooting on its own

BE400 Rebooting on its own

  @Joseph-TP  Hello

I am using a wireless backhaul as I have a old house, so getting wires from the main unit to the next would require more work. (then use a ethernet cable to connect to my PC and console) It still does reboot (or I believe it's a reboot, I'm assuming reboot as it gets reported as 'offline') before 8pm, but it's less frequent, (last time it happened was a few minutes ago at around 15:30 BST). Where after 8pm it happens more frequently.

I did have SMB share mode on, and have now turned it off all the sharing, i'll let you know if makes a difference at a later point.

I did not make any changes to the settings except for updating the firmware on all mesh routers (BE550, BE400 and AXE75) and the system worked perfectly fine, I have not added any new devices on the network, and the link between the BE550 and AXE75 is stable, as my brother connects to that router for work and he's not complained about drop-offs.

The firmware is upto date on all the devices, with the main router being 1.2.3 Build 2026012.

regards

H R Mohammed

Hi @Harryisme ,

Thanks for getting back to us.

You previously mentioned that this anomaly only appeared after the BE400 was updated to version 1.2.3, right? However, the higher frequency of disconnections after 8 PM appears to be due to external interference.

For comparison, you can temporarily remove the BE400. If the network still experiences frequent disconnections after 8 PM, we might need to consider external interference factors.

@Joseph-TP I don't believe it's outside interference, but it's a possibility, I have also now renabled SMB as I the router kept reconnecting (between 6-8pm every few minutes,) even more often when I disabled it, but this could just be a coincidence, I actually disconnected the router last night after it's last disconnect, and now am using my AXE75 in it's place, so far no issues, but it's only been a few hours.

Hello  @Harryisme ,

Has the Archer AXE75 remained stable since replacing the Archer BE400?

@Joseph-TP Not in the slightest, the first day and a bit no issues, but then even thought it worked fine wirelessly, but for some reason my PC that was connected via ethernet kept on getting disconnected multiple times an hour, it got so bad, that I connected my old Deco M4 system (which has had zero issues for 2 days now) and ordered the Deco BE65. Which I am not exactly happy about because my BE550, BE400 and AXE75 are all a year old but the latest firmware appears to have broken something, I expect it's on the BE550 that the issue lies, but that works perfectly fine for every device connected to it. (I can't wait for a solution as I need the internet to work from home.)

I genuinely don't know what is wrong, I've tried resetting everything, I've switched off 6Ghz, I switched off the smart connect, I've done the wifi-analysis and changed channels etc but for some reason the Easymesh part has been unstable ever since I updated the firmware.

Hello  @Harryisme ,

May I confirm the hardware and firmware versions of all your routers?

The firmware for BE550 and BE400 should be as follows:

Archer BE550-v1-1.2.3 Build 20260127 rel.53303

Archer BE400-v1-1.2.3 Build 20260107 rel.48335

Is the firmware for AXE75 as below: Archer AXE75-v2-1.1.2 Build 20260115 rel.74907?

By the way, what is the model of your PC? And have you enabled the USB sharing on your router?

The tech team has been made aware of your case; they will likely reach out to you via email to continue troubleshooting. Please check your email inbox and confirm.

  @Joseph-TP

That is the right firmware for the BE550, for the BE400v1, I am on the 1.2.4 Beta firmware to see if it made a difference, and as for AXE75 it's V1 hardware and firmware 1.5.3 Build 20260209 rel.71108

As for my PC, the Network card is a Realtek Gaming 2.5Gb port built onto the Gigabyte B650 motherboard. (The wireless card is a Realtek 8852CE Wifi 6e card, but I have it disabled). (If you mean OS it's Windows 11 Pro, CPU is 7800X3D and GPU 9070Xt and a Gigabyte Gaming Ax B650 MB)

I did disable USB sharing last week but it made no difference at all, so I reenabled it again.

Hi  @Harryisme

Thanks for your reply.

May I know where you got the beta firmware? Have you contacted the local support before?

Or did you install the Pre-release firmware by the community post: New Firmware for Archer BE400 V1 to Support IPv6 VPN, Wake On LAN, and More

I will sync your info with the engineer. Please keep an eye on your email for a reply.

Hello, I got the same issue as described above.

My main router, AXE75, is running since Nov 2022,

Firmware Version : 1.5.3 Build 20260209 rel.71108(5553)

Hardware Version: Archer AXE75 v1.0

And the mesh is BE400 is running since Sep 2025,

Firmware Version : 1.2.3 Build 20260107 rel.48335(5553)

Hardware Version : Archer BE400 v1.0

Recently, this OTA update was pushed, say one or two weeks ago and now today (22/05/2026) BE400 is rebooting.

Only the device physically connected was Apple TV via Lan with BE400, nothing else, and both routers got SMB enabled from day one, but nothing connected.

Hello @JoyB ,

Welcome to our community.

May I know why you didn't set the BE400 as the main router? What will happen if you disable the SMB sharing?

To help you efficiently, I've forwarded your case to the TP-Link support engineers, who will reach out to you using your registered email address later. Please keep an eye on your email inbox for follow-up.
