Good afternoon team.

We had an incident with the MongoDB instance on our software controller and in the process of trying to resolve it has reset the controller back to the setup page when logging in.

Looking at the /opt/tplink/EAPController/data/db folder I believe the original WT files may still be present along side new ones however they are not being used by Mongo.

Can you advise how we can identify if this is the case and how we can restore those files?

Many thanks

Hi  @Jamie_S

Thanks for posting here.

To understand the situation better, please give us the following info:

1. What's the firmware version of the controller?

2. What kind of issue? Failed to launch the controller? Please share some screenshots.

3.  In the process of trying to resolve it

>>>What did you trying?

4. it has reset the controller back to the setup page when logging in.

>>Please also share a screenshot.

Morning Vincent Apologies for delayed response. Version of the controller during the failure was Omada_SDN_Controller_v5.13.30.8_linux_x64 We've since tried updating to the latest version omada_v6.0.0.25_linux_x64_20251120205747 however this did not resolve. Linux distribution is Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS The original symptom was the GUI would load but just with a spinning green circle which we identified as a database issue. To try and resolve we backed up /var/lib/mongodb to /var/lib/mongodbbak and created a new mongodb folder with the correct permissions to let MongoDB rebuild. In the process of doing so it appears to have created the DB as a new one with a completely fresh setup but we're hoping that the files within /opt/tplink/EAPController/data/db which weren't changed still contain the data we're looking to bring back in to the DB? Sadly do not have screenshots to share at this time. Many thanks

@Vincent-TP That guide seems to relate to the GUI of the devices themselves rather than the Network controller.

Originally the network controller GUI would open with a spinning green circle. After making the changes mentioned in my last post it then went back to the original setup page that you first see when you setup a brand new controller.

Many thanks
