Hello @Billyboy1688 ,

Welcome to our community.

If your phone's Wi-Fi does not show the extender, and the app cannot detect it. Please follow the suggestions here:
1. Check Compatibility: Make sure your range extender is compatible with the Tether app. You can verify this by checking the compatibility list here.
2. Disable Mobile Data and VPN: Turn off any 3G/4G/5G mobile data and VPN services on your smartphone, as these can interfere with device detection.
3. Connect to the Extender's Wi-Fi: Go to your phone's available Wi-Fi networks and look for a network named something like 'TP-Link_Extender'. Connect to this network directly.
4. For iOS Devices: Make sure the Tether app has 'Local Network Access' permission enabled. You can check this by going to Settings > Tether app > enable Local Network Access.
5. Update Firmware: Ensure your range extender's firmware is up to date. You can usually do this via the web management interface.
6. Check IP Settings: If your range extender is set to use a static IP address, make sure the IP is within the same subnet as your main router.

Best Regards.
