Model: RE550
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 250829

Hello,

I have an RE550 range extender.

When around 17 to 20 clients are connected to it, the range extender seems to refuse new connections.

Indeed, it becomes impossible to connect any additional devices, whether a Windows 11 PC, a mobile phone, ESP32, Chromecast, etc. (connection refused).

If I disconnect some devices that are already connected to the range extender, I can then connect those that previously could not.

The issue does not seem to come from the router, since when this problem occurs, I am still able to connect the devices that were refused directly to the router.

I would like to point out that I have updated the firmware to the latest version (version 1.1.0 Build 250829).

Is there a limit on the number of devices that can connect simultaneously?

If so, I cannot find any indication of this in the documentation.

In an era of connected devices and home automation, 15 to 20 devices is very low…

  @ludoj Replying to me :

I got the support.

They told me that the limit for ACxxx series is 16 devices, and 32 devices for series AXxxx

These limits are very low.

Good to know it before purchase (it is not indicated on any documentation...)

Hello @ludoj ,

As far as I know, the theoretical connection limit for the RE550 shouldn't be just 16.

However, theoretical connection limits are usually based on ideal testing environments.

Actual usage will depend on the real-world environment. If some devices drop out after reaching a certain connection limit, it's likely due to interference in the wireless environment.

Have you adjusted the RE550's placement? Or perhaps connected some devices to a router?
