Model: Archer AX90
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Is there any known issue related to this equipment? Band 2 of the 5 GHz is extremely slow a BE200 (Intel) interface is connected to this band of the router. It's been like this for almost a year and nothing I do fixes it. Frequent driver updates, nothing works. It doesn't matter if I select 160 MHz or force it to 80 MHz. Interestingly the Band 1 of 5 GHz is normal and provides a fast connection.

Hi @AeroTacto ,

Please use https://www.speedtest.net or the Speedtest app/CLI (https://www.speedtest.net/apps) to accurately test speed. Please take screenshots with speedtest results and send them here.

Here are some suggestions that may help you:

  • Please go to Advanced >> Wireless Settings to change the 5GHz Wi-Fi channel, you may try different channels to find the best one for your environment.
  • Disable SIP ALG and UPNP: go to Advanced >> NAT Forwarding >> UPNP to disable UPNP; go to Advanced>> Security to disable SIP ALG.
  • Try a few other speedtest servers, other servers might reach better speeds.

Hello @AeroTacto ,

Welcome to our community.

I think this is normal. You can check the Archer AX90 Specifications; the Archer AX90's WiFi speeds are:
5 GHz: 4804 Mbps (802.11ax, HE160)
5 GHz: 1201 Mbps (802.11ax)
2.4 GHz: 574 Mbps (802.11ax)

@Joseph-TP maybe I didn't make myself clear, but what's happening is exactly that the fastest band is presenting this extremely slow behavior.

Hi @AeroTacto ,

Have you tested the actual speed for different bands? What are the results? Could you take some screenshots with test results for even band?

In addition, you can try to change channel and channel width for 5GHz-2, referring to Changing Channel and Channel Width on a TP-Link Router.

@Joseph-TP yes, I have tried all that. Other bands: 2.4 GHz is rather slow as per the old technology, 5 GHz "band 1" is fast, this is what I've been use at a daily basis because it's the only option that works fine. "Band 2" is the problem. Like I've said originally, either 80 MHz or 160 MHz bandwidths are bad, MIMO also doesn't make a difference. This is the only PC that has issues, I have several other devices that access the "band 2" without running slow. It's an original BE200 card with the latest driver (other drivers don't make things improved). The router also has the latest firmware. Thanks!
