Hello,

I have accidentally restarted my router that i previously didnt have any access to ( the acces had my dad but i cant get it from him anymore) and our wifi doesnt work anymore. I decided to try to set it myself by the tplink app where i created an account but to be able to change anything i need to connect to the router. I dont know the password to connect to the router. It says that its the password that was firstly set by the first start of something like that but it was set by my dad and i dont know it. Is there any way to reset the password or to find somewhere the password?

Hi @Krystof ,

Welcome to our community.

If you have physical access to the router, you can reset it to factory settings. To do this, locate the RESET button (usually a small hole) on the back of the router. Use a pin to press and hold the RESET button for about 10 seconds, until the router’s LEDs blink or change. This will restore the router to its default settings, including the default Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password, which are usually printed on a label on the router itself.
