How does this DNS work if more than one is set?

When I tested the DNS on the provider's test site and on external sites, all DNS were detected.

I'm worried that this will slow down my internet if all DNS servers are active at the same time. What I hope is that if DNS 1 is unavailable, DNS 2 will be used, and so on.

My understanding is as follows:

In general, if the Primary DNS server is unavaileble the Secondary DNS would take over.

But when using DoT/DoH:
