Hello @RohitChhikara45 ,
Welcome to our community.
This is an unusual combination, and let's work through some steps to improve performance on both networks.
Step 1: Update the Firmware
Log in to the router's web interface (http://tplinkwifi.net) and go to Advanced > System > Firmware Update. Make sure your firmware is up to date, as updates often include stability and performance improvements.
Step 2: Address High Ping on the Main 5GHz Network
High ping (latency) can be caused by certain router features. Try the following:
1. Go to Advanced > QoS and make sure QoS is disabled.
2. Go to Advanced > NAT Forwarding > UPnP and disable UPnP.
3. Go to Advanced > Security and disable SIP ALG. These features can negatively affect latency and performance.
4. Open the Tether app, go to Parental Control, and ensure no parental control profile is applied to your devices.
Step 3: Address Packet Loss on the Guest 5GHz Network
Packet loss is often related to interference or channel congestion. Try the following:
1. Go to Advanced > Wireless > Wireless Settings and try different Wi-Fi channels for the 5GHz band to reduce nearby interference.
2. Set the 5GHz channel width to 80MHz or 40MHz to avoid interference.
3. Make sure the router is placed in an open area, not inside a cabinet or enclosed shelf.
Step 4: General Check
• Ensure you are using CAT5E or higher Ethernet cables for any wired connections.
• Make sure the network adapter drivers and operating system on your client devices are up to date.
