Firmware Version:

Hello,

To extend my Wi-Fi coverage to my garage, I purchased a Deco X50 (single unit). I connected it to an RJ45 wall jack in my office—which is right next to the garage and wired directly to my SFR Red Fiber Box (Wi-Fi 6). I set the X50 to "Access Point" mode, and my computer is hardwired into the second Ethernet port of the X50. Everything is working correctly, and the Wi-Fi signal now reaches the garage perfectly.

However, I thank the Wi-Fi network broadcast by the X50 could be the same as the one from my SFR Box so that my devices could stay on a single network throughout the house and garage. It seems this isn't possible. Is that feature reserved for Wi-Fi repeaters?

If I want a seamless network everywhere, would I need to buy a second X50 to connect directly to the Box and then disable the Box's own Wi-Fi (to have only one mesh network)?

Can you confirm this, or am I missing something?

Thank you.

Best regards,

But page 6 of the user guide asks you to enter your user name and password for the network
