Hello @Sulooo ,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you're asking whether enabling flow control and full duplex speed settings on your GE800 would improve gaming performance.

Regarding full duplex speed settings on your GE800, the LAN port Ethernet speed on TP-Link Archer routers is set to "Auto Negotiation" by default and cannot be changed. For the WAN port, you can adjust the negotiation speed.

With Flow Controller enabled, when a device gets overloaded, it will send a PAUSE frame to notify the peer device to stop sending data for a specified period of time, thus avoiding the packet loss caused by congestion.

For gaming purposes, it's generally recommended to keep the setting at "Auto-Negotiation" rather than manually forcing full duplex. Auto-negotiation allows your router and connected devices to automatically select the optimal speed and duplex mode based on both devices' capabilities and the connection quality. Manually forcing settings can sometimes cause connection issues or reduced performance if there's a mismatch.

From a general networking perspective, for gaming, the most important factors are low latency, stable connection, and sufficient bandwidth. The default auto-negotiation settings typically provide the best balance for gaming performance. It's recommended to change these settings only if you have specific requirements or are experiencing particular issues.
