I've had a couple of TP range extenders fo some years (RE450 & RE650) which I seem to remember were easy to set up & they have always worked well since. Due to a fault I've had to replace my BT smart Hub 2 for a new one of the same model.

I've endured 2 days of total frustration try to configure the extenders to the new hub. I've reset both units &, after a lot of faffing around, (phone app & website not that intuitive IMO), I managed to get through the set up process & can see both units on the Tether app. But all I get on the app is they are connected (presumably to the hub) without internet with the Tether app is reportingn the network status as "no internet", so they are effectively doiung nothing! I don't remember having this much trouble when I first bought & set them up originally some years ago, has something changed either with the app or the set up process? Or maybe I'm stupidly not doing something I should be! Any help or guidance greatly appreciated.

I would reset the REs to their factry defaults and use the WPS method for configuring - details.

If no improvement try this troubleshooting guide for your particular case.

If that doesn't help, try this guide to configure your RE705X and test.

@terziyski That's exactly what I did in the end, both extenders connected to the hub 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz bands without any problems. This should be highlighted as the default option, why Tapo chose to make their set up instructions more complicated than necessary, I've no idea!
