Model: RE705X
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20250808 Rel. 36206

Hi All,

I use Tp-Link's RE705X in mesh extender mode with Archer VX1800v router.  Following extender firmware upgrade to “1.2.0 Build 20250808 Rel. 36206” its Power Schedule settings no longer function and the RE705X can only be turned off by cutting its electrical supply.

The LED control has also stopped functioning whether using the LED synchronisation  with my Archer router or using the night mode setting.

I have tried to activate both the power schedule and LED control with Tether and TP-Link's computer connection. Also re-booted both Units and tried different times.  Unfortunately this (prompted) firmware upgrade cannot be reversed.

Does anyone else have this problem or a solution?

Hello @GCB_AU ,

Welcome to our community.

Before the firmware update, could the RE705X properly apply the power schedule and night mode synchronized with the VX1800v? Please try performing a factory reset on the extender: Use a pin to press and hold the reset hole for 1 second to restore the extender to its factory default settings. All lights will turn on momentarily when the extender resets. After the reset, you'll need to set up the extender again using the Tether App • click the top right "+" button to add it and reconfigure it in EasyMesh mode with your router.

Note: After performing the factory reset and reconfiguring the device, check if the Power Schedule and LED control features are functioning again. You can access these settings through the web management page (tplinkrepeater.net or 192.168.0.254) under Settings > Advanced Settings > Power Schedule, or through the Tether app under More > Schedule Power Off for the power schedule feature.
